Several years ago, a friend suggested that I consider establishing residency in costa rica because the area had a low cost of living and a high quality of life. I was not ready to move there at the time, but I am now so I need more information about how to become a full-time resident.
Before I sell my current home, I want to find an agent or company that can guide me through each step of this process. In addition to needing assistance to find a home in that area, I also want to know what type of bureaucratic red tape I may have to navigate through to establish residency there. Also, I work from home, so I want to know if there is anything I have to do before I can legally work as an independent contractor in Costa Rica. I would also like to know about how to get a driver’s license.
